The Cotswolds is officially designated as an area of outstanding national beauty and is famous for the honey coloured limestone villages, historic castles and manor houses and important gardens that have made this area so unique.

Just 1 mile from Taynton is the medieval town of Burford nestling on a hillside above the Windrush Valley and is known as the Gateway to the Cotswolds.  Burford has much to interest the visitor with its many fine historic buildings dating back to the 15th and 16th Centuries and today there is a wide selection of thriving local shops, boutiques and antique centres to explore.

In the Town you will find a varied and interesting choice of pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes, a free Museum and an excellent Tourist Information Centre.

A short drive from Taynton brings you to the quintessential Cotswold villages of the Slaughters, Stow on the Wold, Chipping Campden, Snowshill, Bibury, Bourton on the Water and Woodstock.
A little further afield are the well known tourist destinations of Oxford, Cheltenham, Warwick and Stratford upon Avon.

For the more energetic the area offers wonderful walking with stunning views or you could explore the area by bicycle or on horseback.  Why not include a round of Golf, a day at the Races or a trip on the river which are all available locally.

Caroline and Richard have lived in the area for many years and would be delighted to help and advise you whatever your interest might be.
